ZISCOSTEEL is commited to the development of the country’s youth and its human resource skill base and potentials. The company assisted its employees and potential employees through the provision of cadetships, graduate traineeships and apprenticeship training and currently is providing student industrial attachments.

ZISCOSTEEL’s training centre also provides basic and professional technical training to the public  for individuals to develop their competencies to meet labour market needs at the craft level. The centre is providing occupational skills through instructionin theory and the application of fundamentals.

Fitting and Machining

The Mechanical shop does forging, precision machining of spares, bolts, and gears for internal consumption and  external customers. Currently the organisation offers high quality Mechanical services in the following categories:
  1. General machining
    This includes the machining of:
    • Shafts
    • Spur and Single helical gears
    • Bushes
    • Line boring of gear boxes and pump casings
    • Pulley and Sprockets
    • Stamp mill shafts
  2. Fitting
    Includes but not limited to:
    • Overhauling gear boxes
    • Overhead cranes and machine maintenance
    • Pressing out components (light and heavy) and fitting
    • Cutting internal key ways
